ENGINEERED FLOORS VS HARDWOOD FLOORS
Engineered Floors
-
Hardwood Floors
A number of reasons separate engineered hardwood floors from the pack of current hardwood flooring options.
-
Multilayer Construction
Mikasa Floors have a stable 3 layer structure to impart that stability to the floors. They consist of a decorative hardwood veneer atop a core of premium quality HDF or Pine wood. Mikasa Floors are made using the latest technology to overcome the generic issues of wood. On the contrary the Hardwood floors have a single real wood layer with a surface coating making these very difficult to maintain.
-
Ease of Installation
The Hardwood Floors are difficult & messy to be installed. Usually glued down or nailed together, hardwood floors face various issues like expansion & contraction as compared to engineered floors which are pre finished planks and the unique glueless technology , Plankloc helps to get these floors installed almost instantly .
-
Engineered for Stability
The Hardwood Floors are not stable in case of moisture and heat. However the 3 layer construction of the engineered wood floors make it stable and fit for use overcoming the nuances of wood. Thus, engineered hardwood floors can be laid in damp areas, such as basements, where other floors would succumb to the moisture. They can also be laid over heating systems which would cause ordinary solid hardwood boards to dry out, shrink, cup and eventually buckle.

Long Life
Engineered wooden floors have a longer life and every Mikasa creation comes with a warranty of upto 30 years.Solid wood floors require to be repolished, re oiled and re lacquered more frequently as opposed to Engineered wood floors which require minimal maintenance and need to be resanded and polished after about 10-12 years of usage
